Introducing New and Comprehensive Breast Services at Jackson Healthcare for Women

Comprehensive Breast Care at the Clinic

1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and every two minutes a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with breast cancer. About 85% of breast cancers occur in women who have no family history of breast cancer.  Understandably, breast care is a critical component of any woman’s wellness plan and that is why we are committed to offering our patients comprehensive and advanced breast care services that elevate our ability to prevent, diagnose and treat breast cancer as well as provide faster results, less visits to the hospital and lower costs.

Jackson Healthcare for Women’s new breast services include:

  • Faster Results – We will be delivering our new breast services in collaboration with onsite radiologists from Lakeland Radiologists, PA. They will be present daily to collaborate with Jackson Healthcare for Women physicians on reading imaging results and conducting advanced breast studies and biopsies. This will shorten the time it takes to receive test results and accelerate the speed at which we can conduct follow-up testing and physician appointments. Most test results and follow-up testing will now occur within 48 hours.
  • Less Visits to the Hospital – Services, such as advanced breast studies and biopsies that were previously only available through the hospital are now be available at Jackson Healthcare for Women. Hospital appointments will now only be required if breast conserving or mastectomy surgery is needed. Other local providers must still send their patients to the hospital for many of these services.
  • Lower Costs – With Jackson Healthcare for Women’s new, comprehensive onsite breast care services, patients will avoid additional fees for follow-up testing that can accumulate from the hospital, such as facility and processing charges because these types of tests will take place in only one facility – onsite at the clinic.

In 2018, Jackson Healthcare for Women introduced Genius 3D Mammography.
